New York, 22 September 2020 from 9am to 10am– A powerful coalition of current and future African leaders in business, academia & the arts have come on one big platform to help Africa steer its own development agenda.  The African Influencers for Development (AID) initiative, launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is at the heart of UNDP’s new partnership strategy for Africa, to engage with African champions who are already working to drive sustainable development across the continent. 

This year the discussion will focus on:

> How to address measures to tackle Covid-19 and help inform the response of leaders across the African continent

> Present a new narrative of premise and possibility showcasing Africa’s young and gifted innovators

> Promote the possibilities for home grown solutions

> Cast light on the urgent need for supportive policy frameworks and enabling environments for innovations
