45th Board Meeting of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative
The EITI is an initiative established to set the global standard for promoting the open and accountable management of oil, gas and mineral resources. This requires the disclosure of information along the extractive industry value chain from the point of extraction, to how revenues make their way through the government, and how they benefit the public.
The 45th Board Meeting is taking place this week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and will include presentations and workshops for the event attendees on such topics as addressing corruption and reviews of country validations.
