The work of the AfDB
The African Development Bank (AfDB) contributes to the sustainable economic development and social progress of its 54 member states in Africa, thus contributing to poverty reduction. It is one of the five major development banks in the world, providing this type of assistance.
The AfDB follows the objectives of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and it aims to achieve these through its adoption of the High 5s. Under this initiative, the High 5 priority areas of focus in Africa—to light up and power Africa, feed Africa, integrate Africa, industrialize Africa, and improve the quality of life for the people of Africa.
The public is now able to assess the projects and track their progress under the initiative through the MapAfrica tool. The tool allows users to graphically visualize projects for each of the High 5s, projects being undertaken in a particular region or country. It also allows the institution to improve the geographic allocations of its resources, and provides its stakeholders with a better understanding of the Bank’s activities as well as their impact on local development. The tool is available at https://mapafrica.afdb.org/en/#
Prime Production supports the Bank in its daily activities to communicate the work in sustainable development that it carries out on the Continent through translation from English to French and vice versa of press releases, speeches, blurbs and news stories.
