World Environment Day on Saturday 5th June 2021 is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. The theme this year is ‘Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.’ as this year marks the beginning of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. The global host for the day to magnify the importance of ecosystem restoration this year is Pakistan.
World Environment Day is a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually. First held in 1974, it has been a platform for raising awareness on environmental issue such as marine pollution, human overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption and wildlife crime.
